I know we haven't met as yet,
But it's important just the same;
I want to share these feelings
Of hope and love and pain.
I've led a fairly eventful life,
A lot of which I'm not proud.
In fact, I've written this letter
Because I fear to tell you aloud.
If you read this letter
And you still decide to stay,
Then I know Jehovah sent you
And we'll endure...come what may.
You see, I've been down this road before
And sadly it did not last;
Our union was part of a sinful life
And a product of times past.
I tried to make the impossible work
And she even got baptized;
But because I ignored Jehovah's laws
My worst fears were realized.
Please don't get me wrong,
She's a wonderful person indeed;
But because Jehovah was not first in my life,
Our marriage did not succeed.
Truth be told, I was not faithful to my wife
And I could even tell you why;
But I don't wish to offer excuses
As I leave that all behind...
I hope I haven't lost you
Because the story now gets better.
It's why I'm writing this all down
And presenting it in a letter.
Through related events
I've rededicated my life;
And now I rely on Jehovah
As I seek to find new wife.
As Jehovah's people, we know,
In order to succeed,
We must include our creator
In, not a two-fold cork, but three.
I'm glad you read this far,
I really am surprised!
I hope it means you believe me
When I say that's all behind.
If it means you forgive me
And will walk with in this endeavor,
Then take my hand — and come with me
And we'll serve Jehovah forever!
Eternally Yours,
